Planned Power Outage for Maintenance Across Multiple Counties on 23rd October 2024

    Several areas in Nairobi, Kakamega, and Busia counties will experience a scheduled power outage tomorrow, Wednesday, 23rd October 2024. The outage is part of planned maintenance activities by Kenya Power, aimed at improving service delivery and ensuring a stable power supply.

    Nairobi County: Muthaiga and Loresho Areas

    In Nairobi, two key areas will be affected: Muthaiga and Loresho.

    • Part of Muthaiga will experience power interruption from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The affected locations include Brookside Groove, Matundu Lane, School Lane, Clarence Hotel, and surrounding areas.
    • Part of Loresho will also be affected during the same hours, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Areas impacted include the University of Nairobi (Kaumoni campus), Loresho Primary and Secondary Schools, Shamba Café, and nearby customers.

    Kakamega County: Shinyalu Division

    Residents of Shinyalu in Kakamega County will also face a power outage tomorrow from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The affected areas include Otiende Estate, Joyland, Rosterman, Mukhonje, Enjinja, Eshishiru, Shibuli, Emasai Mission, Shimanyiro, Emaugu, and neighboring regions.

    Busia County: Busia Town and Surrounding Areas

    In Busia County, parts of Busia Town will be without power from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This includes Khetias Supermarket, the DC’s Office, the County Commissioners’ Office, KPLC offices, Kisii Estate, Burumba, and nearby areas.

    Kenya Power advises all affected customers to make necessary arrangements ahead of the outage and apologizes for any inconveniences caused. The company assures residents that these planned maintenance activities are essential for enhancing the reliability of the electricity network.
